Yes Mike, I agree, that every OS requires continual work. THE MAIN DIFFERENCE however between Vista and Ubuntu, is that YOU paid for Vista. With that kind of relationship, the end-user shouldn't have to be a beta tester. I'm not saying there is no place for Closed Source - Paid For Software.

My main bug with it was that it was slow, and then Novell made loads of changes, and it was still slow! What I would do is get a source copy of the libraries, and a source copy of xine. Even though it still puts the Windows Vista Beta to shame, it's still not as good as some of the other Linux OSes.
